This collection is inspired by ceramic pieces made during the late Geometric period of Pottery in Ancient Greece, 8th century BC. Alternating geometrical bands with bands of animals and figures, these pieces carried representations of mythology for the first time, when Homer's Iliad is thought to be written. Using black clay to hand-built her pieces, I choose to carve and inlay the geometrical motifs as well as cover the ceramic surface with a high-fired crater glaze. Each piece is hand crafted from scratch and is completely unique.

Created exclusively to accompany the Museum’s major exhibition Troy: myth and reality.
